Pre-school Newsletter
All the staff would like to welcome you back after the half-term break.
Our topic for this half-term is ‘Traditional Tales’.
Please encourage your child to bring an item in for show & tell (nothing of value & named please), or if you as a parent or carer wishes to talk to the children about a special story then please let us know you are always very welcome.
Christmas Fair
All the staff & committee would like to thank our parents/carers & children for your contribution in helping to make the Christmas Fair such a huge success. The money we raised has given the pre-school a vital boost and we couldn't have done it without the input of all involved. Thank you.
Committee
All our committee members work hard to ensure the pre-school runs effectively for all the children and staff, all the staff appreciates this hard work & dedication to the pre-school. We have filled the post of secretary & assistant treasurer; we are now actively looking for a Chairperson & Vice-Chairperson, amongst other members. Please if you can dedicate some of your time for the pre-school & would like to take up a post, please speak to a member of our committee or a staff member, thank you.
Fundraising
We are always in need of fundraising ideas & especially help in making those ideas a reality! Again please speak to a committee member or member of staff if you feel you can help, thank you.
Haven Fun & Fitness
We have registered again with Haven Fun & Fitness. We receive a fantastic sports kit FREE! All you as parents/carers have to do is log onto the website http://www.havenfunfitness.com/ on the right hand side of the screen you will see ‘Support your pre-school’ just type in our postcode DE215EA, click on support your registered pre-school, then register your support. You will be sent an email, you will need to confirm your support by clicking on the link, DONE, it’s that easy! As yet no one has registered their support, Please support your pre-school.
Sickness
Please, could I remind all parents & carers of our sick child policy, In the case of a child having sickness and/or diarrhoea please do not bring your child back into pre-school until 48 hours after the last instance. Any child attending pre-school who appears unwell, the child’s parents/carers will be contacted straight away to collect their child, please could you make sure all your contact details are up to date & relevant, thank you.
Name Them!
Please can you ensure you provide suitable outerwear/footwear for your child, the outdoor area is open whatever the weather. Could we also ask that you name EVERYTHING including your child’s bags & coats, thank you.
News
The pre-school, in line with the latest guidance from Early Years has introduced a new policy on ‘Physical Handling’. The policy will be in the foyer for you to read, please take time to read through this and if you have any questions please speak to a member of staff. It will also be included in our policy file.
There is also a file on children’s development, if any parent/carer wishes to take the file home to read through please speak to a member of staff. The file contains lots of information on child development & there are also some useful websites for parents/carers.
Parent Rota
The parent rota is always up on the notice board by the book corner, you may volunteer as much or little time as you wish. Please just write your name on the date you can volunteer, plus the times, we would be very pleased to welcome you into the pre-school.
